About GBA

The Global Bioeconomy Alliance brings together leading universities from around the world to advance research, education, and innovation in the bioeconomy. Our vision is to build a global, inclusive bioeconomy that advances sustainability, addresses environmental challenges, and fosters worldwide collaboration. Our mission is to connect global partners in research, education, and industry to advance sustainable bio-based solutions and strengthen international collaboration in the bioeconomy.

The alliance was founded by the Technical University of Munich (Germany), the University of Queensland (Australia), and the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil), later joined by the Technical University of Denmark (Denmark). These institutions are leaders in their regions and bring extensive expertise in bioeconomy research.

The Global Bioeconomy Alliance is committed to building a continually growing network of experts dedicated to collaborative research, teaching, and the development of strategies for a sustainable, biobased future. Additional partners worldwide are welcome to join us in shaping a global bioeconomy.
